The week of August 17-21 we will be on a revised schedule with ice from 4-5PM and the following development activities added to the program.
MONDAY — Hockey IQ
We’ll use NHL game footage as well as video from our campers to break down real game situations. Players will be challenged to read the play, anticipate what happens next and understand the decisions that lead to successful plays. We will be focusing on situations and skill applications that will form the basis of our on-ice programming throughout the week. Explaining when, why and where players will use their new skills to maximize their learning.
TUESDAY — Goal Scoring & Shooter IQ
We’ll break down NHL goal-scoring clips and look at what elite shooters do differently. Players will learn how to create better scoring opportunities, read goalies, find shooting lanes and make better decisions with the puck.
WEDNESDAY — Barnburner Testing Day
Players will get the chance to put themselves to the test with our fitness testing equipment, along with shot velocity testing. We’ll record their results so they have benchmarks they can use as they continue to develop.
THURSDAY — Small Area Games
We’ll take our competitive small-area games onto the shooting pad. These games will focus on puck protection, decision-making, passing, shooting, competing under pressure and making plays in tight spaces.
FRIDAY — Laser Tag at the Bubble
We’ll finish the week with some fun and competition at the Bubble with laser tag. Players will get to compete, work together and have some fun with their teammates to finish off the week.
The week of August 31 - Sept 4 is only a half-day camp running in the morning from 9 am - 12 pm. Players will spend the entire time training off-ice at Barnburner circulating through our skating treadmills, dryland training, stickhandling and shooting sessions. There is no ice during this week.
